Senior Star Search qualifiers

The Canadian Belgian Dutch Club (CBD) has been holding their Sr. Star Search contest, which started on Friday, February 8, with the first preliminary round.

The second round was held on February 15.

Going onto the finals with last weeks qualifiers are (pictured): Wayne Phillips, Denis Labadie, Bernie Grass, Ann Labor and Nick Olmstead.

Qualifying the first week, were: Peter Sarapinickas, Lisa Michaud, Alan DeLaet, Granville Boutilier and Bill Thibeault.

The finals are taking place on Friday, February 22 at the CBD in Wallaceburg.

Man accused of murdering his daughter has died

Roopesh Rajkumar, who was charged with first-degree murder in the death of his 11-year-old daughter, has died.

Reports say he had been in hospital with a self-inflicted gunshot wound since the night of his daughter’s death on Valentine’s Day.
