St. Clair Catholic School’s collaborative music concert

Five St. Clair Catholic elementary schools are collaborating to bring young musicians and choir members together for mass concerts in Sarnia and Wallaceburg that will celebrate their musical gifts.

“Every time we celebrate the many gifts God has given these young singers and musicians, we build His Kingdom on earth,” says Dan Sonier, a music teacher with St. Clair Catholic. “That is what this concert is all about.”

The concert also gives students an opportunity to experience a collaborative musical performance with new friends from outside their own school communities, by bringing them together with students from other schools.

“We know that through experiential learning, students will develop a strong sense of musicianship and expand their collaborative skills through connectedness with other students, adults and seniors,” says music teacher Jennifer Trinca.
The collaborative experience will contribute to the students’ overall music literacy, and will develop a new appreciation of building relationships through shared musical experiences.

Participating schools include Sacred Heart, Sarnia; St. Philip, Petrolia; and Christ The King, St. Elizabeth and Holy Family in Wallaceburg. Concerts will be held in Sarnia and Wallaceburg:

Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic School, Sarnia; at 12:30 p.m.

Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic School, Wallaceburg at 10:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.

The concerts are free and open to the general public.
