Cashmere Ivy went wire to wire and held off a late charge by Smile Sally to win the Little Saratoga Pace at Dresden Raceway on Sunday afternoon.

The three-year-old Aracache Hanover filly set fractions of 30.2, 1:01 and 1:31 enroute to a one length win in 2:01.2 for owner, trainer and driver, Donnie Rankin.

“She raced good. Nick (Steward) started coming after her at the half with Mistress K but my filly stayed game and got the job done,” said driver, Donnie Rankin.

Smile Sally close down the lane but only got to within one length for driver Tyler Borth for the second place finish while Kaotic and Gene Piroski took third prize.

The Little Saratoga Pace was revived by Dresden Raceway after being away from the calendar for many years to honour local young horses.

Squirt is riding a streak as the 8-year old Mister Big mare won her third in a row for owner Barb Dinning and trainer Howard Dinning.

Squirt paced the mile in 1:59.3 for driver Nick Steward.

Tyler Borth logged three driving wins on day while Steward and Marc St. Louis each won a pair.
