Woman charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Sunday, police received information about a domestic disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman had assaulted her common-law husband over the weekend.

Yesterday afternoon, police arrested and charged the woman with assault with a weapon and assault.

The 32-year-old Chatham woman was transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Woman arrested from Wanted List

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police located a woman from the Wanted List in Wallaceburg.

The 33-year-old woman was arrested for the offences of mischief under $5,000 and failing to attend court.

She was transported to the Courthouse pending a bail hearing.

Woman charged with theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Earlier this month, police attended the Dollar Haven store in Blenheim in regards to a shoplifting complaint.

Through investigation, police identified the woman responsible.

Last night, police located the woman.

A 29-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.

She was released pending a future court date of August 20, 2019.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police arrested a man wanted for breaching conditions of his Probation Order.

The 21-year-old Chatham man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Late last night, police arrested a man in Chatham wanted by London Police Service.

The 48-year-old man was turned over to officers from London for court purposes.

Update: Stolen truck recovered in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: As previously released, sometime between Saturday at 9:00 p.m. and Sunday at 9:00 a.m. unknown suspects stole a beige 2002 GMC pick-up truck with an extended cab from Charing Cross Road.

The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates FV7 247.

Shortly after 1:00 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol observed the stolen truck parked on Raleigh Street.

The truck was towed from the roadway and the registered owner was notified.

Police continue to investigate this theft.

Motor vehicle collision in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before 6:00 p.m. last night, emergency crews responded to a two vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on Riverview Drive near Keil Drive.

The motorcyclist was transported to hospital as a precaution.

Total damage was estimated at $18,000.

The driver of the van, an 84-year-old Chatham man was charged with an offence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Traffic enforcement

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police conducted traffic enforcement on Longwoods Road in Kent Bridge.

Two motorists were stopped and charged with speeding.

The Chatham-Kent Police would like to remind everyone that we will be out in full force this Civic Holiday weekend.

Our focus will be on the Big 4 Driving Infractions, which include impaired driving, speeding, distracted driving and failing to wear seatbelts.

These high risk behaviours endanger all road users, so please put your phone down, watch your speed, wear your seatbelt and don’t drive while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
