Organizers with the Wallaceburg Terry Fox Run are thrilled after smashing their fundraising goal on Sunday, September 15.
“We more than exceeded our goal of hoping to raise around 10,000 and raised over $19,000,” organizers said on social media.
Organizers say well over 100 people participated in the run and raised a total of and $19,195, with a bit more money still trickling in.
“Should I be surprised… (no), because, well Wallaceburg is just so awesome. To all the fabulous, hardworking volunteers, those who donated to the cause and to all you wonderful supporters and participants in this most wonderful event…we thank you. I think Terry would be proud.”
Organizers say they are already looking forward to next years 40th year of the run.
“Save the date… September 20, 2020. We sure got this Wallaceburg.”
The event was organized once again this year by Wallaceburg’ s Moira and Brad Eggett.
