Man arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 22, police located a wanted 34-year-old man in Blenheim.

The man had a surety relief warrant consisting of nine outstanding charges.

While wanted under the first warrant the man was involved in a domestic violence incident and consequently had an additional warrant for assault levied against him.

After a short foot pursuit the man surrendered to police and was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Bail violations in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 22 at approximately 5 a.m., police were dispatched to assist an EMS unit with a medical emergency in Chatham.

Police arrived and located a 31-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, upon seeing police both persons fled.

The woman did not run far as she was experiencing medical distress, the man fled the area.

The woman was suffering severe adverse effects from suspected illicit drug use and was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for treatment.

The man and woman were identified and found to have a court ordered curfew and non-association with each other.

A warrant was issued for the man and the woman was arrested upon being discharged from medical care.

Woman arrested for domestic assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 22, police were dispatched to an ongoing disturbance in Chatham.

Police located a 27-year-old woman at the source of the disturbance and she was arrested.

Through investigation the woman was charged with assault x 2 and assault with a weapon x 3 against her common-law partner and one count of assault against her eight-year-old child.

The woman was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
