Fraudulent phone calls

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Residents of Chatham-Kent continue to receive, and believe fraudulent phone calls, pretending to represent the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

Canada Revenue states they will NEVER:

– Ask for personal information by email or text message.

– Request payment by credit card or gift cards.

– Share your tax information with another person or organization unless you have agreed that it can be shared.

– Leave personal information on an answering machine.

– Threaten or use nasty language.

Break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Monday, October 28, 2018, police responded to a break and enter complaint in the Redbud Drive area in Chatham.

Unknown suspects broke into a resident’s detached tool shed and stole approximately $300 worth of yard tools, including a JobMate Air Compressor, 12 gauge, 20 foot, yellow extension cable and a 12 amp Worx Leaf blower.

Woman arrested on a warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday at 10 a.m. a 27-year-old Chatham woman attended the Chatham-Kent Courthouse to turn herself in.

The woman had an outstanding warrant for her arrest for breaching her Probation Order.

She was later released with a future court date.

Make the right call – Every call is important

False 911 calls are continuing to pull officers away from incidents that require their attention.
