Man charged with break and enter
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Sunday, an elderly man in Wallaceburg was awoken around 3 a.m. by a noise in his home.
While searching his home, he found his great grandson hiding in the living room.
He gained entry into the home through a window.
Fearing a confrontation, the man allowed his great grandson to sleep in his home.
In the morning, the man realized that his great grandson was gone and had stolen his Team Canada jacket, cell phone, cash and debit card.
Through investigation, police learned that the stolen debit card had been used at a local convenience store multiple times and that this was not the first time he had stolen items from this home.
Yesterday afternoon, police located the great grandson in Chatham and he was arrested.
The 22-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with break and enter and two counts of theft.
He was released pending a future court date of November 20, 2019.
Executed warrants
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police located a man who was wanted for being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, resist arrest and failing to attend court.
The 25-year-old Tilbury man was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, a man wanted for breaching his Probation Order, failing to comply with his release conditions, mischief under $5,000 and failing to attend court was arrested in Windsor.
The 31-year-old man was transported back to Chatham-Kent for court purposes.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Motor vehicle collisions
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, around 8 a.m. police responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Queen Street and Mill Street in Tilbury.
No one was injured.
Total damage was estimated at $80,000.
Both drivers were charged with failing to stop for an amber light.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 11 a.m. yesterday morning, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Oxley Drive near St. Clair Street in Chatham.
No one was injured.
Total damage was estimated at $7,000.
The driver at fault was charged with failing to stop for the amber light.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 12:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon, emergency crews responded to a two vehicle collision involving a fuel tanker on Queens Line.
Minor injuries were reported.
Total damage was estimated at $7,500.
Queens Line between Drake Road and Dillon Road was closed until 5 p.m. as crews cleaned up the diesel spill.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, members of the Traffic Unit conducted speed enforcement on Mill Street West in Tilbury.
Five motorists were stopped and charged with speeding.
