Winter driving

Man charged with breaching his curfew

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 3 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol initiated a traffic stop on Churchill Park Road in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the man, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was currently bound by a curfew.

The 37-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with drug possession

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: This morning, shortly after 12:30 a.m. an officer on general patrol located the man in a parking lot on Richmond Street in Chatham.

Through investigation, the officer learned that the man was breaching his curfew condition.

As the officer placed the man under arrest, he tried to pass a plastic container with cocaine in it to his girlfriend.

The 34-year-old Chatham man has been charged with failing to comply with his release conditions and drug possession.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Woman charged with failing to comply

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Earlier this month, a woman was released from Court with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that she was not to communicate with two specific men.

Just before 10 p.m. last night, officers responded to a disturbance on Queen Street in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman jumped in a vehicle with one of the men.

The 23-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged.

She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police located a man wanted in connection with two separate shoplifting incidents in Wallaceburg, failing to comply with his release conditions and failing to attend court.

The 49-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 1 a.m. this morning, police located a woman wanted for breaching her Probation Order and failing to attend court.

The 33-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
