Fog advisory issued across Chatham-Kent

A fog advisory has been issued across Chatham-Kent, as areas of dense fog are expected tonight into Tuesday morning.

“Fog has developed this evening over some areas including the higher terrain of the Dundalk Highlands,” forecasters say.

“Fog will continue to develop across much of southwestern Ontario tonight persisting into Tuesday morning. Additionally there is a risk of freezing drizzle overnight into Tuesday morning. Untreated surfaces may become slippery.”

Conditions will improve through the morning Tuesday, Environment Canada officials stated.

“Visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero,” forecasters say.

“Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.”

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada, forecasters say.
