Child airlifted following crash near Tupperville

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, around 8 p.m. emergency crews responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Base Line and Centre Side Road.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that a woman was driving westbound on Base Line when her Dodge Charger collided with a GMC Sierra, being driven by a man travelling northbound on Centre Side Road.

A child in the Charger was air-lifted via Ornge to a London hospital with what medical staff believed was a life threatening injury.

Both drivers were also transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention.

Early this morning, police learned that the child had been released from hospital.

The Traffic Unit has taken over the investigation.
