Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, a woman wanted for domestic related offences attended police headquarters and turned herself in.

The 32-year-old Dresden woman was arrested and released pending a future court date of December 17, 2019.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 4 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol located a man on Queen Street in Chatham who was wanted for drug possession and failing to attend court.

The 40-year-old man was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Youth charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Monday afternoon, police received information that a fight had occurred earlier in the day between two Wallaceburg teenagers.

A 16-year-old teen sustained injuries and was transported to Sydenham District Hospital for medical attention.

Yesterday, a 15-year-old teen was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Woman charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that a verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation.

The 20-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon.

She was released pending a future court date of December 18, 2019.

Traffic enforcement

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, our Traffic Unit conducted speed enforcement on Bear Line Road.

Three motorists were stopped and charged with speeding.

Man arrested in London on CKPS warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On October 22, 2019 a man was released from police (CKPS) custody with conditions.

One of those conditions was not to possess any form of identification and/or data card(s) (debit/credit) that were not in his name.

On October 23, 2019 the man was captured on video surveillance making purchases at a store in Chatham using a stolen debit card.

Once he was positively identified, a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest as his whereabouts were unknown.

On Tuesday, the 26-year-old Chatham-Kent man was located in London and arrested on the warrant.

He was then transported to CKPS Headquarters where he has been charged with possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000, fraud under $5,000 and failing to comply.

The man was held in custody.

Woman charged with assault police

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Tuesday a woman was being held in police custody at the Courthouse in Chatham.

As she was being escorted from the courtroom by a police officer, she spat saliva directly at the officer.

As a result, the woman was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer and placed into a cell.

When another officer attempted to serve documents to the woman, she spat saliva directly at that officer as well.

Therefore, the 33-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with two counts of assault police.

She has been held in custody.

Woman charged with flight from police

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: In September, 2019 the woman was released from police custody with conditions.

One of her conditions was to remain inside a specific residence at all times with her surety.

Early Wednesday morning, an officer on general patrol in Chatham observed a vehicle registered to the woman, travelling southbound on Lacroix Street.

The officer initiated a traffic stop, but the driver would not pull over.

After a short pursuit, the vehicle pulled into a driveway and the lone woman exited the driver’s seat.

The 25-year-old Grand Point woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply and flight while pursued by police.

She was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and later released with a future court date.
