Transit Strategy Project being discussed in Wallaceburg

Public consultation is taking place in Wallaceburg on Thursday regarding the Transit Strategy Project for Chatham-Kent.

The public meeting will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Community Living Wallaceburg, located at 1100 Dufferin Ave., Wallaceburg.

“This project will provide recommendations to Municipal Council on the future direction of CKTransit over the next 5-10 years,” Municipal officials said in a press release.

“This second series of Public Information Centre (PIC) sessions will be open house-style where members of the public can drop-in to view information, ask questions, and provide feedback.”

Information will focus on public transit service for the community in which the session is being held, Municipal officials stated.

“Content presented is based on public feedback and research collected during the first phase of the project,” Municipal officials said.

“With the exception of personal information, comments will become part of the public record and incorporated into the Transit Strategy Project. Attendees may choose to enter into a draw to win a $25 Tim Hortons gift card.”

If people are unable to attend one of the sessions, the presented information as well as a comment section will be available at www.letstalkchatham-kent.ca beginning December 5.
