45th annual Salvation Army luncheon raises $7,250

The annual Salvation Army luncheon in Wallaceburg has been deemed a success once again.

Mark Childs, one of the event organizers, said a total of $7,250 was raised at the UAW Hall in Wallaceburg on Tuesday.

“On behalf of Josh, Sam, Ben, Olivia, Jake, Gord and Fran Childs, myself and Deb, we would like to thank everyone that came out to support the 45th Annual Salvation Army Luncheon,” Childs posted on social media.

“I would also thank the dozen or so that donated over the phone or in person at the Goose. We raised $7,250, bringing our 45 year total to $328,152.”

Childs thanked a list of sponsors, supporters and volunteers to making the annual event a success.

“I want to acknowledge Bill MacArthur who, to my knowledge, is the only person to have attended all 45 dinners,” Childs said.
