Man charged with break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, the owner of a property on Indian Creek Road West in Chatham called police to report a suspicious man inside his barn.

The 41-year-old Chatham was arrested and charged with break and enter and mischief.

He was released pending a future court date.

Man charged with failing to comply

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On January 16, 2020 the man was released from custody with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was not to associate with two specific Tilbury men.

Late yesterday afternoon, the Tilbury men were together in a vehicle, when they noticed that the man was following them around Chatham.

Police were called and the Tilbury men drove to police headquarters with the man continuing to follow them.

Officers were waiting for the man and he was taken into custody.

The 19-year-old Chatham man has been charged with two counts of failing to comply.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Teen charged with taking grandfather’s car

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 2 a.m. this morning, police received information that a teen had just taken his grandfather’s car without permission from a residence in Chatham.

A short time later, an officer on general patrol observed the vehicle travelling on St. Clair Street.

The officer activated his emergency lights in an attempt to stop the vehicle.

The teen did not stop and drove the car back to the residence.

The 15-year-old Chatham teen was arrested and charged with taking a motor vehicle without consent and flight from police.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with breaching his curfew

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 25, 2019 a man entered into a Probation Order with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Shortly after 5 a.m. this morning, police responded to the report of a man outside a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the man was currently bound by a curfew.

The 23-year-old man of no fixed address has been charged with breaching his Probation Order.

He remains in police custody this morning.

Man charged with failing to comply

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 31, 2019 a man was released from Court with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Around 5:30 a.m. this morning, police responded to the report of a suspicious man in the area of Lorne Avenue and Inshes Avenue in Chatham.

Officers located the man and through investigation learned that he was currently bound by a curfew.

The 27-year-old Chatham man has been charged with failing to comply.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around noon yesterday, police located a teen in Wallaceburg who was wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions.

The 16-year-old male youth of no fixed address was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police arrested a man on Wellington Street in Chatham who was wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions.

The 29-year-old man of no fixed address has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, police located a man in Blenheim who was wanted for breaching his Probation Order and failing to comply with his release conditions.

The 22-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, an officer on general patrol observed a man riding a bicycle in the area of Herbert Street and Gillard Street with no light.

The officer stopped the man for this offence and through investigation learned that he was wanted for fraud related offences, failing to comply with his release conditions, obstruct police and failing to attend court.

The 31-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, police located a man in the area of Foster Street and Park Street who was wanted for failing to attend court and in connection with a theft from a business on King Street last month.

The 24-year-old Chatham man was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Theft of computer in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning, unknown suspects entered a construction trailer on Grand Avenue East and stole a laptop computer.
