Man charged with using stolen credit card

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Monday, police responded to a theft from vehicle at a residence in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman’s vehicle had been entered overnight and a wallet containing a debit card was stolen and used to purchase alcohol and cigarettes.

With the assistance of video surveillance, the man responsible was identified.

Last night, police located the man and he was arrested.

A 31-year-old Chatham man has been charged with being in possession of a stolen credit card, unauthorized use of a credit card, possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000 and fraud under $5,000.

He was released pending a future court date of March 20, 2020.

Disturbance leads to mischief charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before 1 a.m. this morning, police responded to the report of a suspicious man inside the VIA Rail station in Chatham.

Offices located the man and through investigation learned that he threw garbage around, knocked over the vending machine and triggered the fire alarm.

The 36-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police arrested a man who was wanted for failing to comply with conditions of his Peace Bond following a domestic related incident.

The 23-year-old Tilbury man was charged and released pending a future court date of March 25, 2020.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, a man wanted for break and enter, theft under $5,000, failing to attend court and for his fingerprints was arrested in Windsor.

The 35-year-old man was transported back to the Chatham-Kent Courthouse pending a bail hearing.
