The Wallaceburg Tartans Girls Hockey Team are the SWOSSAA ‘A-AA’ champions.
The Tartans topped Tecumseh L’Essor 2-1 at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena on Monday, March 9, 2020.
“For the first time in Tartan history, a varsity hockey team is going to the Ontario Championships!” WDSS tweeted.
Hailee Schepens and Natalie Sands were the goal scorers for the Tartans.
Sam Whiteye was the winning goalie.
“Nine seconds away from 5th straight shutout,” coach Tom Peel said on social media.
“First ever trip to OFSAA hockey for any Tartan hockey team. These girls ROCK!!”
The 2020 OFSAA ‘A/AA’ Girls’ Hockey Championship is taking place in Stratford from March 24 to March 26, 2020.
