Police: B&E in Wallaceburg, shed broken into, traffic enforcement

Break and enter in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon at approximately 2:35 p.m. police responded to a residence on Edgar Street in Chatham in regards to a break and enter.

Unknown suspects had broken into a shed.

At this time it is unknown if anything was taken.

Traffic stop leads to arrest

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon at approximately 3 p.m. while on general patrol an officer conducted a traffic stop on King Street East in Chatham.

Through further investigation the officer learned that the passenger was wanted on a warrant.

The 30-year old female was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where she was later released with a future court date.

Break and enter in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening at approximately 5:45 p.m. police responded to a commercial property on Garnet Street in Wallaceburg in regards to a break and enter that had just taken place.

Two suspects had cut a hole in a fence and entered the property in an attempt to steal tools.

Police located the two a short distance away and immediately arrested them.

At this time the investigation is still ongoing.

Traffic enforcement in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday police conducted a traffic initiative for speeding on Charing Cross Road and Grande River Line.

A total of 12 fines were issued for speeding and four warnings given for various other offences.

Police are reminding motorists to slow down and watch their speeds.
