Male arrested on strength of warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 1:20 p.m. on March 14, police observed a 48-year-old Chatham man that was wanted on an outstanding CKPS warrant for failing to attend court.

He was placed under arrest, transported to CKPS headquarters and booked into custody to be held for a bail hearing.

Male arrested for theft under $5,000

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 3:45 p.m. on March 14, police received a complaint of a shoplifter at a Wallaceburg business.

The suspect vehicle left the scene before police arrival.

Information was sent out about the vehicle and suspect and police located the suspect in Chatham.

The stolen property was recovered and the 25-year-old man was charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime not exceeding $5,000.

He was released pending a future court date.

Woman arrested on strength of warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 5 p.m. on March 14, police conducted a traffic stop in the city of Chatham.

Through investigation police learned that one of the occupants, a 34-year-old Wallaceburg woman, was wanted on several outstanding CKPS warrants.

She was placed under arrest, transported to CKPS headquarters and booked into custody to be held for a bail hearing.

Male arrested for assault and uttering threats

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 6:45 p.m. on March 14, police were dispatched to a residence in Chatham in response to a complaint of an assault.

Police learned that a physical altercation occurred between a 36-year-old Chatham man and a 35-year-old Chatham man.

The 36 year-old man was arrested for assault (punching) and uttering threats to cause death.

He was transported to CKPS headquarters and released pending a future court date and non-association conditions.

Male arrested for pointing a firearm

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 1 a.m. on March 15, police received a third party complaint of a domestic dispute in which a 42-year-old Chatham man pointed a firearm at his girlfriend.

Police attended the area and located the suspect and recovered a discarded replica firearm.

He was placed under arrest for failing to comply with a release conditions, weapons offences, and breach of probation.

He was transported to CKPS headquarters to be held for a bail hearing.
