Woman charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a disturbance between two women known to each other on Richmond Street in Chatham.

A 45-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with assault.

She was released pending a future court date.

Update: Disturbance between youths

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: As previous released, last Wednesday night, police responded to a disturbance between youths in the area of Queen Street and Park Avenue East in Chatham.

Minor injuries were reported.

A 16-year-old Chatham youth was arrested and charged with two counts of assault.

He was released pending a future court date.

Yesterday afternoon, a second youth was arrested.

The 15-year-old Chatham youth was charged with assault and theft.

He was released pending a future court date of June 15, 2020.

Man charged with domestic related offences

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Earlier in March, a man was released from custody with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was not to communicate with his ex-girlfriend.

Around 2 a.m. this morning, an officer on general patrol was flagged down on King Street by the woman requesting help.

Through investigation, police learned that the woman was assaulted by her ex-boyfriend.

He also damaged her cell phone.

The 25-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault, mischief under $5,000 and failing to comply with his release conditions.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Executed warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police arrested a woman who was wanted for failing to comply with her release conditions.

A 36-year-old Chatham woman was charged and released pending a future court date of June 23, 2020.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police located a man on Adelaide Street who was wanted on a surety relief warrant.

The 36-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to a local correctional facility.

Motor vehicle collision

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Queen Street near Tweedsmuir Avenue in Chatham.

One driver was transported to hospital as a precaution.

Total damage was estimated at $20,000.

A 71-year-old Chatham man was charged with careless driving.
