Driver clocked at 180 km/h on the 401

Chatham-Kent OPP officials allege: On April 4, 2020 at 9:09 p.m. a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol along Highway 401 near the Queens Line exit noticed a vehicle moving at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle was displayed on radar well in excess of 180-km/h in the posted 100-km/h zone.

The driver, a 20-year-old Windsor, Ontario resident, was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle.

They are scheduled to appear in court on July 15 to answer to the charge.

This charge includes an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment.
