Serious train collision in downtown Chatham

The Chatham-Kent Police Service are investigating after a serious collision involving a train in Chatham.

Police officials allege just before 6 a.m. this morning, April 7, emergency crews responded to the downtown Chatham area near William Street.

“CP Rail crossings between Adelaide Street and Jeffrey Street are blocked as the investigation continues,” police officials said in a media release.

“Please avoid the area.”

More information will be released as it becomes available.

The Traffic Unit has taken over the investigation.
