Rollover crash leads to impaired driving charges

Lambton OPP officials allege: On April 16, 2020 at approximately 7:25 p.m. members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Lambton Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Dawn-Euphemia responded to a single motor vehicle rollover on Oil Heritage Road in Dawn-Euphemia Township.

The driver fled the scene on foot.

Lambton OPP arrived on scene and observed the vehicle resting on its side.

West Region Canine (K9) and West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) attended to assist with locating the driver.

The driver was located inside a residence.

Lambton EMS attended the location as a precaution.

The driver was subsequently arrested for impaired operation and transported to the Lambton OPP detachment.

A 24-year-old Lakeshore man has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs, pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada and Fail to Remain, pursuant to the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia, Ontario on June 15, 2020.
