Police: Drug trafficking charges laid, speeding, warrant

Man charged with drug trafficking

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Officers have arrested a man for five counts of drug trafficking.

The 39-year-old Chatham man was found to be in possession of Fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, ecstasy and oxycodone.

The seized drugs have a street value of about $3,000.

Police also located an air-powered firearm – revolver, $896 in cash, a digital scale, dime bags and a gold watch.

The man had been sentenced to a probation order on January 16, 2020.

One of the conditions was that he was prohibited from possessing any firearms.

He now faces eight charges in relation to the firearm.

The man was held for bail.

Man arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 9, 2020 a warrant was issued for a man that failed to comply with his release order.

Yesterday, police located the man and he was taken into custody.

A 20-year-old Wallaceburg man was released with a future court date.

Canada Road Safety Week

On Saturday, May 16, 2020, members of the Traffic Unit conducted speed enforcement throughout the Municipality.

In total, 34 drivers were stopped and charged with speeding.
