Highway 40 rehabilitation in the works, west of Wallaceburg

The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is looking to upgrade a portion of Highway 40, just west of Wallaceburg.

The MTO says they are launching the detail design and class environmental assessment study for the rehabilitation of Highway 40 from west of Wallaceburg to south of Stanley Line in Lambton County.

“The project is being undertaken primarily to address the existing pavement condition on Highway 40 and will include pavement resurfacing, minor drainage improvements such as ditching, culvert rehabilitation or replacements and electrical work,” MTO officials say.

“Construction is anticipated to be carried out in 2021 and lane closures will be required to facilitate construction.”

MTO officials say the study is being completed under provincial regulations as a “Group C project” or a minor improvement.
