Impaired by drugs in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 30, 2020 at 7:23 a.m. officers responded to a call regarding a vehicle in the ditch on Park Avenue West.

Two males were in the vehicle at the time.

The driver was identified and found to be impaired, was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he failed the tests conducted for impaired by drug by the Drug Recognition Expert. 

The 23-year-old Chatham man was charged with impaired by drug and released with a future court date.

Theft in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 30, 2020 police received call of suspicious person going though vehicles on Fairview Line. 

Upon arrival, officers observed a male fleeing through a field and into ditches but were unable to locate the man.

Three hours later the same male was observed in the area and when officers attended they found the 28-year-old Chatham man hiding in a yard. 

He was arrested for theft and possession under $5,000.

Property from the earlier theft was retrieved and returned to the owner.

The man was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Warrant and mischief in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 30, 2020 a 36-year-old Chatham woman, with a warrant for her arrest for failing to comply with her release order, was reported to be in a motel lobby bathroom.

The woman barricaded herself in washroom rendering it inoperable and the door had to be forced open.  

The woman was arrested and an additional charge of mischief was laid.

The woman was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where she was held for bail and later remanded into custody.

Impaired driving in Tilbury

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 30, 2020 at 4:45 p.m. police received a call of a possible impaired driver west on Queens Line towards Tilbury. 

The vehicle was located just entering Tilbury. 

The driver, a 54-year-old Chatham man, was found to be impaired by alcohol.

He was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for breath tests. 

He was later released with a future court date.

Bail violation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Friday afternoon an officer in the area of Grey Street in Chatham located a woman known to be wanted for failing to comply with her release order.

The 36-year-old woman was arrested, transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking and held for bail.

Man arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Friday afternoon an officer on general patrol in Chatham located a man in the area of King Street and Adelaide Street who was known to be wanted on a warrant for failing to comply with his probation order.

The 38-year-old man was arrested, transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking and later released with a future court date.

Man arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Friday afternoon an officer on general patrol in Chatham located a man in the area of St. George Street and St. Patrick Street who was known to be wanted on a warrant for multiple theft and possession charges and failing to comply with an undertaking.

The 38-year-old man was arrested, transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking and later released with a future court date.

Man arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Friday evening an officer on general patrol in Chatham located a man in the area of Baxter Street who was known to be wanted on a warrant for failing to comply with his release order.

The 34-year-old man was arrested, transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking and held for bail.

Man arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Friday evening an officer on general patrol in Blenheim located a man in the area of Victoria Street and Talbot Street East who was known to be wanted on a committal warrant.

The 27-year-old man was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking.

Bail violations

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early Saturday morning an officer on general patrol in Chatham located a man in the area of St. Clair Street.

Through investigation the man was found to be breaching his release order.

The 48-year-old man was arrested for failing to comply with his release order, transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters for booking and later released with a future court date.
