‘Bike Month’ photo contest launched

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is launching a ‘Bike Month’ photo contest.

Municipal officials say May 31 to June 6 is Canadian Environment Week, with June 3 being Clean Air Day.

“Clean Air Day is an important reminder that our health and well-being depends on clean air,” Municipal officials said in a media release.

“To celebrate, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent Parks and Open Spaces, in partnership with CK Public Health, would like to encourage residents to participate in this year’s Bike Month.”

Bike Month takes place from June 1 to June 30 and encourages residents to rediscover the benefits of cycling, which can improve public health by increasing physical activity, while also reducing greenhouse gas emissions to improve the air people breathe, Municipal officials say.

“Residents are being encouraged to participate by snapping a photo of themselves or their families cycling throughout the communities in Chatham-Kent,” Municipal officials say.

“Participate to have your photo featured on the Chatham Kent Trails Facebook Page, the Trails Chatham Kent Instagram Page and CK Public Health social media, and to win one of several prize packs. Each week three photos will be chosen and featured.”

How to enter:
