Man charged with criminal harassment

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, police received information that a man was continually sending his ex-girlfriend emails, despite being cautioned by police.

The 35-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with criminal harassment.

He was released pending a future court date of September 9, 2020.

Pedestrian struck in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a collision involving a pedestrian in a parking lot on St. Clair Street in Chatham

The pedestrian, a 73-year-old Chatham man sustained minor injuries.

The driver, a 65-year-old Chatham man was not injured.

Charges were not laid as the collision occurred on private property.

Man charged with stunt driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Around 2 p.m. yesterday afternoon, a member of our Traffic Unit observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on McNaughton Avenue East in Chatham.

The officer recorded the man driving 102km/h in a posted 50km/h zone.

The driver, an 18-year-old Chatham man was charged with stunt driving.

His license has been suspended for seven days and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program.

Stolen car in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, unknown suspects stole a black 2012 Mercedes from a residence on Turquoise Court.

The car was last seen with Ontario license plates CKKY 883.

The vehicle was recovered last night in London.
