Police: Impaired, B&E on Langstaff Line, disturbance

Impaired on Prince Albert Road in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 5:59 a.m. this morning a 19-year-old man was located in the drivers seat of a vehicle, sleeping inside, while the vehicle was running and parked on the roadway.

The driver was arrested for impaired driving.

He was later released with a future court date.

His vehicle was towed and licence seized.

Break and enter on Langstaff Line

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A complainant reported that sometime overnight on June 27 and unknown person entered a shop and removed numerous tools valued at approximately $850.

Disturbance on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At around 1 p.m. there was a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, police located a 36-year-old man intoxicated in a public place and unable to care for himself.

He was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Headquarters and to be released when sober.

Breach of peace on Grand Avenue West in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 2:53 p.m. on Friday, police received two calls in regards to a male in the Grand Avenue area walking across St. Clair Street into the path of traffic.

He was arrested for breach of the peace.

He was taken to Chatham-Kent headquarters and was set to be released later when sober.

Mischief on Thames Street in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: As a result of an investigation, a warrant was being sought to arrest an accused for mischief.

While on general patrol officer observed the accused behind a building on Thames Street. He was arrested and transported to headquarters.

Harassment

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 24, an officer attended a neighbour dispute complaint. After an investigation, a man was arrested for harassment. The man was brought to headquarters and released with a future court date.

Domestic assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 50-year-old woman attended the Chatham-Kent Women’s Centre and then was brought to the hospital, reporting injuries to her wrists.

Police were contacted and learned that a 74-year-old man had grabbed on to her wrist and then pulled her by the hair, which caused bruising.

Officers located the suspect, he was placed under arrest, charged for assault and transported to headquarters.

Breach of the peace at 80 Grand Avenue West in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 26, a male party attended hospital and was discharged after being seen by medical staff.

He was was located under the influence of drugs and was causing a disturbance within the emergency department waiting area.

The man was unable to care for himself.

He was set to be held in custody until he was sober.
