Multiple charges were laid after an alleged assault on Wedgewood Crescent in Chatham on Friday night.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege at 8:25 p.m. a male reportedly broke into a residence, punched a female victim and then proceeded to chase neighbours with a machete.
Investigation has resulted in accused being charged with two counts of break-and-enter, assault, forcible confinement, assault with weapon, theft and mischief.
The suspect was held for a bail hearing.
