Impaired driving charges laid in Lambton County

Lambton OPP officials allege: On June 29, 2020 at approximately 7:50 p.m. members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol on Oil Heritage Road in Township of Plympton-Wyoming.

Lambton OPP located a motor vehicle and initiated a traffic stop in relation to a Highway Traffic Act infraction.

Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage and was displaying signs of impairment.

The driver was arrested for impaired operation and taken to the Lambton OPP detachment where they provided samples over four times the legal limit.

A 26-year-old Dresden man has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus), pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia, Ontario on September 14, 2020.

Impaired driver arrested after crash

Lambton OPP officials allege: On July 1, 2020 at approximately 8:40 a.m. members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Lambton County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on St. Clair Parkway in St. Clair Township where the driver became aggressive with a witness.

Investigation revealed the driver struck the hydro pole, exited the vehicle and struck the witness.

Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage and was displaying signs of impairment.

The driver was arrested for impaired operation and taken to the Lambton OPP detachment where they provided samples over the legal limit.

A 37-year-old Plympton-Wyoming woman, has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus), Operation While Prohibited and Assault, pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice-Sarnia, Ontario on August 10, 2020.
