The Chatham-Kent Police Service is reminding the public to practice boat safety.
“We would like to remind boaters that our Marine Unit patrols the waterways within Chatham-Kent including the Thames River, Sydenham River and Channel Ecarte,” police officials said in a press release.
“All of these waterways have a speed limit of 8 km/h whether speed limit signs are posted or not.”
Police officials added: “Please operate your boat in a safe and respectful manner to prevent damage caused by your wake or wash.”
