Free BBQ meal on Saturday at First Baptist, more upcoming meals

First Baptist Church in Wallaceburg us holding a free take-out meal on Saturday, July 18 at 5 p.m.

“It’s the good ‘ol summertime and you know what that means, don’t you? Barbecue time,” Pastor Brian Horrobin posted on social media.

“Everyone is invited to our free community supper… it will be take-out style, with both drive through and walk up areas to serve you. We will serve you a heat-and-serve meal consisting of: one barbecued hamburger, one barbecued hot dog, a piece of fruit, a bag of chips, a dessert, and a refreshing drink.”

Horrobin said the meal at the 99 Thomas Avenue church will be held rain or shine.

Trinity United Church, located on Wellington Street in Wallaceburg, is holding a free community meal on Friday, July 24 at 5 p.m. Organizers from the church say the meal will be on a take-out and pick-up basis and vehicles are being asked to enter from Elizabeth Street.

Bethel Tabernacle will hold a take-out meal on Tuesday, July 28 at 5 p.m.

First Baptist will hold another take-out meal on Saturday, August 15 at 5 p.m. and Bethel will hold another take-out meal on Tuesday, August 18 at 5 p.m.

At Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Wallaceburg, there will be no meals in July and August.
