Police: Mischief at Chatham business and school, assault, theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A local male was the subject of a suspicious person incident and found to be wanted on a CKPS warrant for breach of probation. 

The male was arrested, transported to headquarters, processed and released with conditions.

Mischief over $5,000 in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A local female, while under the influence of intoxicants, attended a local business and caused damage to patio area. 

Tables, umbrellas, outdoor wiring was all damaged.

It is estimated that damage will exceed $5,000. 

The female was located across the street at the 7-Eleven, arrested and
transported to CKPS headquarters where she was held for bail. 

Breach of release in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A local male was arrested for two counts of breach of undertaking. 

He was transported to headquarters, processed and held for bail.   

Assault in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: CKPS received a complaint of an assault that happened between two parties overnight.

As a result of the investigation-one of the involved persons was issued a future court date to answer to the charge of assault.

Police investigating mischief in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Saturday morning, police began investigating a mischief on Eugenie Street in Chatham.

The mischief took place sometime the prior evening where unknown suspects damaged a window out at Queen Elizabeth Public School.

Damage has been estimated at $700.

Man charged with breaching curfew

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 19, 2020 a man was released from court with several conditions.

One of those conditions stated that he was to obey a daily curfew of 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Last night around 10 p.m. an officer on general patrol observed the man on a bicycle on Richmond Street.

The 37-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions.

He was also found to be in possession of break and enter tools and was charged accordingly.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Traffic enforcement

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a vehicle complaint in the area of Morrison Road in Orford Township.

Through investigation, a roadside test was administered to the driver.

As a result the 58-year-old Blenheim man was issued a three-day license suspension.

Man charged following theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Saturday morning, police arrested a man who was wanted in connection with a theft of multiple items from a business on Keil Drive in Chatham.

An 18 year-old Chatham man has been charged with theft under $5,000.

He was released pending a future court date of August 25, 2020.
