Hearts Together for CK Hospice Benefit Broadcast set for September 24

With the COVID-19 pandemic and the many restrictions associated with it, the annual Benefit Gala usually held in October each year has been cancelled for 2020.

With over 50% of the Chatham-Kent Hospice operating budget being covered by donations each year, including proceeds from the Benefit Gala, a new approach is needed to make up those funds.

This year, the Chatham-Kent Hospice will be hosting the Hearts Together for CK Hospice Benefit Broadcast.

On the evening of Thursday, September 24, a professionally produced benefit broadcast will be streamed through Facebook Live as well as YourTV (cable 11) consisting of both live and taped segments including a variety of entertainment, a Hospice Heart Story, sponsorship highlights and other segments to raise awareness for Chatham-Kent Hospice.

During the broadcast, viewers will be asked to call, text or go online to make a donation.

Additional funds will be raised in advance through sponsorship and donations.

“We are very excited to host this unique event to help raise funds that are essential to the daily operations of our Hospice,” stated event Chair Randi Bokor, in a press release.

“We plan on making it both entertaining and informative and are working with wonderful sponsors including our Title Sponsor Victory Lincoln as well as Battery Boy, Honey Electric, MBI Financial, Schinkel’s Gourmet Meats, Teksavvy, Westhoek Construction and YourTV to make this happen.”

Proceeds from this will be used to provide end-of-life hospice care to local families at no cost to them.
