Update: Murder charges laid in Sarnia

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: On August 30, 2020, at approximately 2:50 p.m. Sarnia Police responded to an assault in the 100 block of College Street North.

A male at the scene was transported to hospital and subsequently was pronounced dead due to the injuries he had sustained.

The victim in this matter is James ‘Jim’ Wilson, 76-years-old, of Sarnia, Ontario.

On August 30, 2020, shortly after the incident, three suspects, a 26-year-old woman, a 24-year-old man and a 77-year-old man, all of Sarnia, were taken into custody and have since been charged with second degree murder.

The Sarnia Police Service has cleared the crime scene on North College Street and the roadway is now open to the public.

This was an isolated incident and the persons involved were familiar with each other.

Currently members of the Sarnia Police Service Criminal Investigation Branch continue their investigation of the homicide and are still hoping to speak to anyone that may have information regarding this incident.
