Community Living Month recognized in C-K

Community Living Chatham-Kent held a brief ceremony at the Civic Centre on Tuesday morning to recognize the organization’s work and honour those who support, volunteer or access its services.

The COVID-19 pandemic delayed the event that is usually celebrated in recognition of Community Living Month in May, Municipal officials say.

Mayor Darrin Canniff praised Community Living for its service to, and participation in, the community.

“Before COVID, everywhere I went, I would see Community Living,” Mayor Canniff stated in a media release.

Community Living Executive Director Ron Coristine said Team Community Living is the best team in town.

Following a flag raising ceremony, the organization presented the Joyce M. Carr Champion Award, the Rob McLandress Make a Dream Come True grant awards and the Joan Olive Risdon Memorial Award of Distinction.
