Groups can apply for 2021 community event funding

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is now accepting applications from local groups seeking funding for community events to be held in 2021.

Applications can be submitted for the Together CK: Events Grant Program, which in past years was called the Community Partnership Fund: Festival & Events.

“In keeping with its commitment to encourage community development through partnerships with local groups, Council allocates funds each year through a competitive process,” Municipal officials said in a media release.

“Groups are invited to apply for funding of up to 50% of an event’s cost to a maximum of $5,000. Significant events (those with attendance in excess of 25,000) can quality for up to 50% of expenses for the first $10,000 of the budget and 25% percentage of the balance of the budget, to a maximum of $25,000.”

The deadline for applications for this round of funding is Thursday, November 5 at 4:30 p.m. Grant guidelines are available online at www.chatham-kent.ca under the Residents heading. (Choose the “Community Funding” link, then click on “Together CK: Events”.)

All applications will be reviewed by a committee composed of citizens and representatives from various municipal departments.
