‘Special announcement’ this morning at Wallaceburg’s hospital

Wallaceburg’s hospital will be the site for a special announcement on Friday, October 23, at 10 a.m.

“Join us virtually for a special announcement at our Wallaceburg site this morning,” Chatham-Kent Health Alliance officials tweeted Friday morning.

“Tune in to our Facebook LIVE at 10am! Visit http://facebook.com/ckhamedia to watch the event.”

Monte McNaughton, the Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development and the MPP for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex; Lori Marshall, president and CEO of the CKHA; Greg Aarssen, board chair for the CKHA; and special guests are set to be in attendance.

“I am en route to Wallaceburg. Big day for our hospital in town. It will be there to serve for generations to come,” Minister McNaughton posted on social media.

“I’ll be joining local health care leaders to announce the first major building block for the hospital’s redevelopment. Exciting day for local health care in Wallaceburg. I can’t help but think of all the people who have fought so hard over the years to ensure a hospital remains in town: (Patrick Davis), Jeff Wesley, Rex Crawford, Conrad, Sheldon, Gerri and thousands of people (I know I missed many).”

The media have been invited to the event, which will take place at the hospital located 325 Margaret Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Watch for a follow-up story following the announcement.
