Rifles stolen, truck theft and crash in Wallaceburg

The Chatham-Kent Police Service are investigating two separate thefts and charged have been laid after a crash, all in Wallaceburg.

Stolen vehicle

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Monday at 9 p.m. and yesterday at 8 a.m. unknown suspects stole a brown 2002 GMC Sierra pick-up truck from a residence on Nelson Avenue in Wallaceburg.

The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates 165 4FV.

Theft of rifles in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to a theft complaint at a residence on Running Creek Drive.

Through investigation, police learned that sometime since August, unknown suspects stole a wooden .22 cal bolt action rifle and wooden .22 cal semi-automatic rifle from the residence.

Both rifles were secured with trigger locks.

Motor vehicle collision

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a two vehicle collision on Dufferin Avenue near Lorne Avenue in Wallaceburg.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $5,000.

A 19-year-old Wallaceburg teen was charged with failing to yield the right of way.
