Confirmed COVID-19 case at Riverview Central School

A confirmed case of COVID-19 has been linked to Riverview Central School in Port Lambton.

“Lambton Public Health notified the Lambton Kent District School Board on November 8, 2020 that there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 in the Riverview Central School community,” public school board officials posted on the Riverview school website.

“At this time, Lambton Public Health does not feel there is any impact to the school, nor are they dismissing any students or staff.”

Dr. Sudit Ranade, Medical Officer of Health for Lambton County, also issued a letter to parents and guardians about the issue.

“Public Health is working closely with the school community and is contacting any individuals (students and staff) who may have been in potential contact with the virus,” Dr. Ranade said in the letter.

“CK Public Health and/or Lambton Public Health will only call close contacts of confirmed cases. If you have not been contacted, you have not been in close contact with the confirmed case.”

There are currently 20 active cases across Chatham-Kent, and 422 total COVID-19 cases.

There are nine active cases in Lambton County and there has been 380 cases overall.
