Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime overnight on November 5, 2020, unknown suspects entered a smoke barn on Fargo Road and stole $2,500 worth of black tobacco.
“Not only is the theft of several thousand stalks of tobacco a concern to the farmers but also the risk of fire when opening one of these barns,” Crime Stoppers officials say.
“The potential loss of a crop could cost the farmer hundreds of thousands of dollars. The suspect in these thefts would have to have knowledge of the tobacco industry. At this stage the tobacco is of little value to anyone as it requires further specialized treatment to make it a marketable product.”

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On November 6, 2020, police were dispatched to the area of McCreary Line in Wallaceburg in response to a call of a break and enter.
Sometime overnight, unknown suspects entered a shed and removed a Toro riding lawn mower valued at $4,200.

Break and enter at Chatham storage unit
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On November 6, 2020 police were dispatched to a business address on Grand Avenue East in Chatham in response to a break and enter.
Sometime overnight, unknown suspects cut the lock off of a storage unit, and entered, stealing approximately $4,000 worth of jewellery and fishing tackle.
