Strong winds are wreaking havoc across the Municipality of Chatham-Kent on Sunday, November 15, 2020.
Local resident Todd Shepley tweeted on Sunday afternoon, showing a tree down in downtown Wallaceburg, in front of Myers Insurance, and another tree down at the Main Street and Margaret Avenue intersection in Rotary Park.

Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services officials say they are responding to multiples incidents involving downed trees and wires.
“CK Fire is working with our partners and monitoring the current weather situation,” fire officials tweeted at 1:42 p.m.
“We are responding to a number of downed wires across the municipality. There is flooding along Erie Shore Drive in #ckont, please avoid area.”
Entegrus is reporting multiple power outages across Chatham-Kent as well:

A wind warning remain in place across Chatham-Kent.
“Damaging winds expected today and tonight,” forecasters say.
“A strengthening low pressure system is forecast to track across northeastern Ontario today. This system will bring southerly winds with gusts of 60 to 80 km/h late this morning. Winds will then shift to very strong southwesterlies with gusts of 90 to 110 km/h beginning this afternoon. The strongest wind gusts are expected to be along the shores of eastern lake Erie and eastern lake Ontario. Winds are expected to ease by Monday morning.”
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur, forecasters say.
