Police: Impaired driving, B&E, theft and possession

Impaired driving in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service official allege: On November 14, 2020 a 52-year-old Chatham man was located following a driving complaint.

The man was sitting in his vehicle with a can of beer between his legs.

Upon further investigation officers believed the man to be driving while under the influence of alcohol and he was subsequently arrested.

The male was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he refused to provide a sample of his breath as required by law.

The man was charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Refuse Breath Sample.

He was later released with a court date of November 27, 2020.

Breach probation, theft, possession in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service official allege: On November 14, 2020 police attended the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance in regards to an unwanted person issue.

A 19-year-old Chatham man was located and it was determined that he was also the subject of an unwanted person call at 7-11.

The male had a probation order with conditions that he not attend either one of those locations.

Upon further investigation the man was currently being investigated for theft from a St. Clair St. business.

The man was arrested accordingly, transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.

Break and enter in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service official allege: On November 14, 2020 a storage unit property on Richmond Street in Chatham had multiple storage units entered.

Six units had their locks cut, three units were unused and the remaining three are to be inventoried once owners contacted.
