Four active COVID-19 cases on Walpole Island

Walpole Island First Nation officials say there are four active cases of COVID-19 in the community as of Monday, November 23, 2020.

This brings the total number of positive cases of the virus on the First Nation reserve to 23 since the pandemic began.

18 cases are resolved and one person has died.

A total of 410 residents have been tested for the virus, with 326 negative results.

A total of 61 test result are still pending.

Earlier this month, Walpole Island First Nation Chief and Council are implementing testing for all staff and a deep cleaning of offices, following a positive COVID-19 test among staff. Details, here.

Walpole Island officials said if residents are experiencing symptoms, they should self-isolate immediately and call the Walpole Island Health Centre at 519-627-0765 or after hours, call Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000.
