Break and enter in Dover Township

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: The Chatham-Kent Police are looking for information regarding a break and enter in Dover Township.

Sometime between November 23 and November 24, unknown suspects entered the complainant’s barn on Marsh Line. Approximately $200 worth of property was taken including motor oil and a battery powered Mastercraft drill.

Traffic enforcement

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: The Chatham-Kent Police Service conducted traffic enforcement in Tilbury.

On November 24, 2020, police issued eight Provincial Offence Notices and several warnings for speeding under the Highway Traffic Act.

Police wish to remind motorist to slow down and to obey posted speed limits.

Man arrested for breach of undertaking

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: The Chatham-Kent Police have arrested a man for failing to comply with a release order.

On November 20, 2020, the accused was released on an order with several conditions including where he was required to reside and a curfew.

Last night, police located the man on King Street West, Chatham.

The man was not in his residence during the designated curfew condition.

The 18-year-old Chatham man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man from Chatham faces several charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: The Chatham-Kent Police have arrested a man after an incident at a local grocery store.

On November 23, 2020 at about 9:52 a.m., police responded to a theft complaint on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

The accused had placed $140.25 worth of merchandise into two bags.

Management approached him and the accused became belligerent, dumped the contents of one bag and left the store with the second bag.

An off duty Chatham-Kent Police Officer verbally identified himself and presented his Police credentials.

The officer was able to arrest the accused.

A 47-year-old, of Hampton Court, Chatham has been charged with theft, possession of property obtained by crime and resist Peace Officer.

He was subsequently released from custody on an undertaking and will appear in court on January 13, 2021.
