Man charged with being in possession of child pornography
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police received information that a local man may be in possession of child pornography on his cell phone.
Through investigation, police confirmed that the man was in possession of intimate images involving a young child.
Last night, the 51-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and charged with being in possession of child pornography.
He remains in police custody this morning.
Family dispute leads to charges
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a family dispute at a residence in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that the man assaulted his brother with a wooden stick, resulting in medical attention being required.
The man was arrested and upon being searched was found to be in possession of crystal methamphetamine.
The 38-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault with a weapon and drug possession.
He was released pending a future court date of December 24, 2020.
Executed warrants
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to the report of a suspicious person near a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham.
Officers located the man and learned that he was currently wanted for breaching his Probation Order.
A 50-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested, charged and released pending a future court date of December 22, 2020.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police stopped a man for a Highway Traffic Act violation in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that the man was wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions.
The 29-year-old Chatham man was arrested and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police arrested a man who was wanted in connection with an incident in Tilbury where he sold a vehicle to a local salvage yard that was brought to him to repair and store.
A 45-year-old Tilbury man has been charged with theft by person required to account.
He was released pending a future court date of December 23, 2020.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, a man wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions attended police headquarters and turned himself in.
A 27-year-old Chatham man was arrested and released pending a future court date of December 18, 2020.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police stopped a man for a Highway Traffic Act violation. Through investigation, police learned that the man was wanted for stealing a sports card from a store on King Street East in Chatham earlier this month.
A 38-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000.
He was released pending a future court date of December 29, 2020.
Woman charged with being intoxicated in a public place
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night, police responded to the report of a suspicious woman on Wall Street in Wallaceburg.
Officers located the intoxicated woman who was unable to care for herself.
For her own safety, the woman was taken into custody and transported to police headquarters.
The 21-year-old Walpole Island woman has been charged with being intoxicated in a public place.
She will be released when sober.
Stolen truck in Thamesville
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between Saturday at 10 p.m. and Sunday morning at 10 a.m. unknown suspects stole a grey 2003 GMC Sierra pick-up truck from a parking lot on London Road near Victoria Road. The truck was last seen with Ontario license plates AT68 406.

Fraud warning
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: The Chatham-Kent Police would like to remind citizens that scammers continue to call, email and text people stating that they’ve won a prize.
In order to claim the prize though, they need to pay a fee to cover taxes, legal fees or delivery costs.
Scammers usually ask that the payments are made using iTunes gift cards or bitcoin, which should immediately raise a red flag, that it’s a scam.
Please remember that if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
