Some new overnight accommodations are available in downtown Dresden, at 127 Main Street.

The listing also provides some details “about the roots” of their name and space.
“Alexander McVean, who was known as a personal friend of Sir John A. MacDonald, arrived in Dresden in 1870,” the listing on Airbnb states.
“He and his wife Sara had five sons and a daughter. In 1879, he took over sole ownership of the Hub and Spoke Factory. The factory became a success and the McVean’s family dominated Dresden’s business community for nearly a half-century. They provided the economic driver for the village, employing as many as 80 workers year-round. In honour of their entrepreneurial spirit, we chose to name this special space after the start of their success.”
During the design period of the space, the owners say they wanted to bring back “some of the old days’ charm” and decided to expose a section of the “beautiful and warm” terracotta brick that is prominent in downtown Dresden.
“The 12 foot ceilings give the space a lofty and open feel,” the listing on Airbnb states.
