Walpole Island First Nation’s Public Works department is holding its annual Cemetery Clean Up Day this week, inviting community members to help tidy the burial sites of their deceased loved ones.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Organizers say coffee and breakfast snacks will be available at 9 a.m., followed by a barbecue lunch at noon. Garden tools will be available to borrow, along with grave markers to paint and a cemetery map available for updating.
“Hope to see you there,” the Public Works crew said in a notice announcing the event.
