Zero active COVID-19 cases on Walpole Island

There are now zero active COVID-19 cases on Walpole Island.

Officials on the First Nation reserve made the announcement on social media on Monday, February 1, 2021.

The active cases remained at zero in a social media update on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 as well.

There have been 35 total positive cases in the community since the pandemic began last March.

Walpole Island officials say 582 residents have been tested for COVID-19, with 539 negative results.

Eight results remain pending as well.

There have been 34 recoveries on Walpole and one death.

Walpole Island officials say if residents are experiencing symptoms, they should self-isolate immediately and call the Walpole Island Health Centre at 519-627-0765 or after hours, call Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000.
